Our experts completed a Navy dry dock study for NAVSEA PMS-407. They conducted a boots-on-the-ground survey of Navy dry dock facilities, associated commands, and gathered ship-class-specific dry-docking requirements. We analyzed dry dock capacities, availabilities, and certifications along with Operations Tempo (OPTEMPO) plans to identify risks and recommend solutions.
We lead ship integration with high-powered weapon systems technology transition for 4 years for ONR 35 analyzing risk for DDG 51 Flights IIA and III, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS). Our team provided cost estimating and briefed NAVSEA and PEO Ships on integration issues and technical requirements. In addition, we conducted SDTS shipchecks, and identified candidate spaces and locations for new surface ship weapons with SWaP-C. We developed SDTS ship integration study, facilitated working groups; Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), audit teams, and special review teams while providing in depth analysis. In coordination with SEA05D, our experts assessed validity of results of a SEA 05D ship integration study. Our company conducted in-depth engineering studies for DDG-51 power and cooling for advanced weapon systems. Our experts performed a comparative analysis for SSL installation on DDG 51 versus LCS class ships to examine power and cooling.
Our experts studied energy requirements including complete power system analysis and cooling in 2014. Our team developed a power conversion transition matrix for rail gun, Solid State Laser, SEWIP, and AMDR on DDG 51 Flights IIA and III, DDG 1000, LHA 8, and LX R ship classes for NAVSEA Electric Ships Office PMS 320. We have coordinated technical issues with PEO IWS, PEO SHIPS, and the Naval Surface Warfare Centers in Philadelphia, Carderock, Dahlgren, and Port Hueneme. These efforts involved hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM&E), power specifications, technology roadmap, safety, training, producibility, maintainability, and availability. We also provide consultation for ship’s force capabilities and training.
This Veteran-Owned Small Business has guided-projectile experience (4 years) with DARPA for the Multi-Azimuth Defense Fast Intercept Round Engagement System (MAD-FIRES) and related technologies at ONR, NAVSEA, and PEO Ships. Our subject matter experts addressed key challenges and risk areas for the new system’s integration into the existing Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) footprint. This medium-caliber guided projectile was designed to combine the guidance, precision and accuracy generally provided by missiles with the speed, rapid-fire capability, and large ammunition capacity afforded by bullets.
