AEGIS Technical Operator/Trainer


As an AEGIS Technical Operator/Trainer working for Hepburn and Sons LLC, you will be assigned as part of our technical work force to support management, operation, and technical expertise for the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) of Wallops Island. You will provide support to test, evaluate and conduct fleet operations and training for Combat Systems during systems testing or warfare operator training on a variety of Aegis baseline configurations. You will be expected to:

  • Provide advanced analytical and technical support to projects involving training, tactical/operational documentation, military systems design or other efforts requiring military operations expertise
  • Make recommendations about resources required for task execution and completion
  • Gather, process, and analyze operational data
  • Assist with the testing and development of new systems or updates to existing systems to meet customer needs


Mission event set up responsibilities include: Coordinate with the customer and pertinent departments to identify event equipment and computer program configuration, obtain computer programs and electronic data, and other site preparations necessary to ensure the readiness of the requested systems and equipment to support a successful mission event. Collect system recorded data during the event. Respond to customer issues during the event. Perform systematic take down at the completion of the mission event.

Maintenance responsibilities include: Scheduling maintenance to minimize systems and equipment downtime.

Reporting responsibilities include: Promptly reporting the status of systems and equipment that are not functioning properly and have the potential to impact customer events to the Government.


  • 10 years experience on an AEGIS Platform, with 4 years (may be concurrent) as an AEGIS Combat System Maintenance Manager (CSMM) leading a team of technical/tactical operators engaged using surface weapon systems for surface, subsurface, air, strike, C4I, and ballistic missile defense warfare areas as part of the Combat Systems Training Team (CSTT)
  • 3 years technical experience with AEGIS Baseline 5.3.9, 6.3, 7.1, 8.0 or a Baseline 9 variant, responsible for the Combat System Maintenance Manager organization and with knowledge to start combat systems from cold iron status for test.
  • Technical knowledge to bring combat systems up from cold iron status to support testing
  • Active DoD Security Clearance


0-25% of time will require travel
